Processing of Condiments

Description:Commonly used spices grinding process includes slow temperature / cryogenic grinding, ultrafine grinding, jet milling etc. Common spices size reduction applications: pepper, black pepper, white pepper, green pepper, hemp powder, cinnamon, cumin powder, Alpinia Galanga powder, Red pepper powder, Fructus Galangae powder, red yeast rice, nutmeg, pepper kenaf powder, garlic powder, star anise powder, clove powder, Amomum powder, bay leaves, cardamom powder, strawberry powder, turmeric powder, ginger powder, allspice, curry powder, onion powder, mustard powder, Angelica powder, kaempferol powder, fennel powder, spice powder, aniseed powder and other food products.

As some spices are damaged when exposed to high temperatures, causing a loss in their active taste components, especially for high sugar, oil, and other temperature sensitive properties, low temperature or cryogenic grinding processes are generally used.

 

FSL series cryogenic grinders: the cryogenic grinders feature a complete system, having a hopper, mechanical grinder, fan, cyclone collector, vibrating screen, liquid nitrogen tank and other components.

 

(A). The working principle of the cryogenic mill system involves using liquid nitrogen as the cold source, cooling the pre-crushing material to a brittle, friable state at low temperature. The material is then fed into the pulverizing chamber where the material collides against itself, the vane panes, a high speed impeller and the grinding plate. The combined effect of collision, shearing and friction forces reduces the size of the material, following which the cooled air is recycled for the next batch of grinding.

 

(B). Characteristic of the cryogenic grinder system, the cold source forms a closed loop to maximise utility of energy, saving energy costs. By reducing the temperature down to minus 196°C, depending on the feed’s brittle temperature point, the best grinding process can be selected through regulation of the system’s temperature to reduce energy consumption. The grinding fineness can reach from 1mm to 13 microns. Through the use of liquid nitrogen, ultra-low temperature, explosion proof, non-oxidizing grinding can be achieved.

 

The cryogenic grinding system can be used to grind various materials that cannot be normally grinded at room temperatures. These materials includes:

1. Chemicals, coating areas: metal wall coating materials: Teflon, PA, PC, PU, PP, PE coating powder; stick coating compounds, high binding paint; noise-reducing coating: elastomers, nano-acoustic coating; anti-corrosion coating; absorbing coating materials such as the use of ultra-fine grinding. Low density polyethylene (LDPE), clothing materials, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), decorative powder coating, nylon 11, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), PPT, PET, TPU, ABS, anti-corrosion functional powder coatings, linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), etc. Engineering materials: general engineering plastics (PA, PA6, PA66, PA11, PA12, PC, POM, PBT, PET, PPO, PMMA), etc; special engineering plastics (PPS, PI, PSF, PEEK, PCTFE, LCP, PTFE, PES , PAI, PAR), etc; modified plastics such as General Plastics engineering modified products (modified ABS, PP, PVC, PC); modified engineering plastics (PPO, PA, POM, PC, PBT (PET), PSU) ; modified special engineering plastics (PPS, PEEK, PEI, PSF, LCP); plastics and rubber materials, all kinds of master-batch and color master-batches: such as white master-batch, and other master-batches; functional master-batch, color master-batch pumping tablets, pigment dyes, thermoplastic elastomers, plastics, etc. superfine products.

2. Food and healthcare industry: crushing plant fruits, animal and plant extracts, medicine, natural, synthetic elements to ensure its original contents are not lost in the crushing and drying process. Widely used pepper, black pepper, white pepper, green pepper, hemp powder, cinnamon, cumin powder, Alpinia Galanga powder, Red pepper powder, Fructus Galangae powder, red yeast rice, nutmeg, pepper kenaf powder, garlic powder, star anise powder, clove powder, Amomum powder, bay leaves, cardamom powder, strawberry powder, turmeric powder, ginger powder, allspice, curry powder, onion powder, mustard powder, Angelica powder, kaempferol powder, fennel powder, spice powder, aniseed powder and other food products.

3. Biotechnology industry: (A), crushing active cells: as cryopreservation techniques can ensure that the retaining of active cells, the same technology can be used for crushing and preparation of drugs. Cryogenic grinding first uses low-temperature frozen drug treatment process using liquid nitrogen, followed by crushing the frozen drug, with the drug to directly cool the dormant cells, and then sent for grinding through the mill, avoiding the high temperatures generated during the crushing process. 4. Plastic recycling: low melting plastic, high self-lubricating materials, waste rubber, cryogenic grinding way collagen raw rubber. Polymer materials used in categories such as: polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, polyamide, PTFE, ABS, elastomers, raw rubber, rubber, phenol-based, polyester-based pulverized from 1mm to 13 microns.

5. High water content categories such as: animals and plants extracts, medicine, synthetic fibers, seaweed extracts; strong fibrous materials, special materials, animal placenta, cellular, humoral powders. Sheep placenta capsules for oral use is a major breakthrough.

7. The chemical industry: potassium permanganate, cryogenic ultrafine grinding technology.
